How the chargeback works

Chargeback is an effective means of protecting consumers' rights against online fraudulent financial transactions. It allows bank customers to initiate a refund if they became a victim of unscrupulous brokers.

Data collection and preparation

The procedure begins with the client contacting their bank and providing all available information and evidence confirming the fraud — correspondence, screenshots and statements.

Checking and starting the procedure

The issuing bank reviews the application and, if justified, initiates a chargeback through the payment system (Visa, MasterCard), which contacts the acquiring bank of the broker.

Decision and refund

If the broker cannot prove the transaction was legitimate, the acquiring bank returns the funds to the issuing bank, which transfers them back to the client's account.

How does a chargeback work?

The refund procedure includes stages that the law firm helps the injured party go through.

01

Formation of an evidence base

Fraud detection and evidence collection — the most important stage. Specialists analyze the situation and collect all information about transactions and communication with the broker.

02

Legal claim against financial intermediaries

Lawyers prepare an official request to the banks and payment systems that serviced the transactions, aiming to block funds in accounts associated with the fraudulent broker.

03

Banking legal expertise

Banks and payment systems conduct their own investigation to verify the legitimacy of the client's demands, which may include requests for additional documents.

04

Compensation order

After all checks, financial institutions make a decision on the refund. Once completed, the blocked funds are transferred to the client's account.

05

Control over the implementation

We monitor the completion of the procedure until we are completely sure that all the money has been successfully returned.

Feedback from clients with successful refunds

★★★★★
I was scammed for $14,000 in a pseudo-crypto project. The lawyers immediately sorted out the situation, requested all the evidence and started correspondence with the exchange. Two months later my funds were marked as stolen and frozen — and most of them were returned.

BarclayStone looked professional: website, English-speaking managers, a dashboard with live quotes. After I invested $7,500 the withdrawal games began. Capital Recall showed it was a fake platform, collected documents and carried out the refund.

I transferred over 200,000 zlotys to a supposed investment fund, then silence. They contacted the recipient bank, filed a request through the regulator and started the legal procedure. A month and a half later I got back about 80%.

I poured $7,000 into a trading platform and was left with nothing. They made a request to the processing company and involved lawyers. After 45 days the bank canceled the transactions and the money returned to my card.

I transferred €3,200 via SEPA to an "NFT earnings" scheme. A local lawyer said zero chance. Capital Recall started the refund via European SEPA regulation and a month later returned the entire amount.

Hackers withdrew over $9,000 in BTC from my wallet. Everyone said it was impossible. They tracked the transactions, contacted the exchange and convinced it to freeze the address. After almost 3 months part of the funds were returned.
